our mission

As a ministry of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church (SVUMC), the mission of the child development center (CDC) is to offer a loving Christian education to children in our community. The CDC accepts each child as a child of God and believes in allowing children to explore, create, and develop the necessary skills to learn and grow in a Christian environment. We encourage spiritual development and prepare children for academic success through the Ministry of CDC, our curriculum, and our education philosophy. The CDC believes children benefit from hearing and learning about God's love.

All classes are aligned with Texas Guidelines and TEKS standards. Each class conducts regular informal and formal assessments to monitor student progress. Children ages two and older attend weekly chapel, while children ages three and older participate in weekly music, library, STEM, and physical education classes.
