    administrative asst. & facilities managment

    Ann joined Sierra Vista UMC in 1992 and volunteered in various areas of ministry including the UMYF program. In 2000, after retiring from teaching, she was hired as the Church Secretary. In 2004, Ann's job was changed to Administrative Assistant. In 2014, the job of Facilities Manager was added. Ann is in charge of the facility calendar as well as church publications.

    Kelly joined SVUMC membership in 1995 and served as the Children's Director, beginning in 2008. After graduating from United Theological Seminary, Kelly answered a call into pastoral ministry and was appointed as an associate pastor at Sierra Vista in 2018. She works to organize Christian Education for adults and to create relationships through Connectional Ministries. 

  • JENNIFER HEDGES

    nursery coordinator

    Jennifer has a long history with Sierra Vista and became the Nursery Coordinator in 2017. She has a BS in Elementary Education and an MA in Counseling. She has worked with children of all ages throughout her life. She and her husband have 5 children ranging in age from 22 to 1.

    Children's Development Center, Director

    Tracy's passion for early childhood and education began over 30 years ago.  Her family is fortunate enough to call Sierra Vista UMC home and has been with Sierra Vista Child Development Center for over 20 years. First as a parent, she saw the tremendous benefits of this faith-based, academic foundational program.  Tracy has also taught for the program for six years and became the director in 2014.  I have been blessed by this program and hope to continue my ministry here for many more years to come.

    Sallie has an extensive background in church music ministry which began at the age of 10. As an accompanist, Sallie is able to "mashup" traditional worship music with new and creative arrangements that help to create a reflective worship space during each service. 

  • NANCY KNIGHT

    Nancy and her husband, Ron, have been members of Sierra Vista UMC since 1978.  Nancy has served as the Director of Discipleship Ministries since 2008 and finds her job is to help people get connected to a small group or a ministry within the church so that they can develop a closer relationship with and within the body of Christ.

  • TROI MIDDLETON

    administrative ASST.

    Troi and her husband Dale became members in 1990.  She began working at Sierra Vista in June 2016 as the Administrative Aide to the pastors after retiring from Angelo State University.  Troi is a member of the Sanctuary Choir and The Light Sunday School Class.  Her hobbies include playing tennis and Mahjongg and enjoying pool time with Dale in their backyard.  She also volunteers with the local Safe Kids Coalition helping with children’s car seat installations and child safety.  She and Dale are blessed with 4 grandchildren (Layne, Kylie, Taryn and Caitlin McCrea).

  • JOHN SCOTT

    director of youth ministries

    John joined the Sierra Vista staff in October of 2020. From an early age church members said he would be a minister some day, but he wasn't ready to listen to God's call.  While attending DBU to play soccer he had the opportunity to be a Youth Summer Intern.  He stayed on after that summer and finally on a ski trip, answered God's call to full time youth ministry.  He now fulfills that call by empowering teens to develop their spiritual life through religious education, mission opportunities, and social events so they might become disciples of Christ.

    Tamara came to be at SVUMC in December of 2013.  Her primary roles at the church include leading our Saturday 5:30 worship service, teaching and facilitating small groups, and providing support to our mission and outreach ministries. Tamara feels called to provide opportunities for people to experience the transforming power of God's love expressed in and through Jesus Christ and empowering them to live out that love authentically in their lives. She and her husband, Ben, enjoy hiking, cooking, and spending time at the beach together.

    Growing up, piano lessons and performances were routines at home, in church and in the communities were I lived.  Bachelor and Master Degree in Music and Education enabled me to use my skills in Houston, smaller communities and San Angelo as teacher, supervisor, elementary school principal and grant writer for the SAISD Gifted Education Program.  Sierra Vista UMC has been my church home since 1982, using  Music Ministry through the piano, organ, hand bells, as well as adult and children's music.

  • DONNA TALLAS

    Donna Tallas is the Financial Director of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. She has been employed by the Church since 1986. Donna is responsible for receiving donations to the Church, as well as for accounts payable. She and her husband are blessed with a daughter, a son, their spouses, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Donna's hobbies include playing the piano and crocheting.

  • STAN WHITES

    Stan was called into ministry at the ripe old age of thirteen in his hometown of Lucedale, Mississippi, but his journey to ordained ministry covered some twenty-plus years and nearly as many states.  He and his wonderful wife, Tina, came to be a part of Sierra Vista UMC in June of 2015.  Stan has a passion for inviting individuals and families to come to know and grow in their knowledge and experience of God’s great love for them.

    Madison and her husband A.J. became members in 2011. An alumni of Angelo State University, Madison is well acquainted with San Angelo and the community. Her grandparents were educators for San Angelo ISD as well as her parents for various school districts. She thrives on hard work and dedication believing everything can be achieved. Madison’s heart for kids ministry is full of love, imagination and endless energy. Her goal for any kid that comes to Sierra Vista is to know how much they are loved, valued and cherished.
