As the Psalmist wrote, “…Children are a gift from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3a). At Sierra Vista, we embrace this notion and strive daily to provide entertaining and stimulating opportunities to help children develop strong and personal relationships with God.

 What We Believe
Sierra Vista believes that children belong in worship. By welcoming kids at our church’s most sacred moments, children learn that nothing can separate them from the love of God. By worshiping together with our children, families can pass on traditions for praising God through the sacraments, music, sharing the good news, and offering gifts and prayers.

 Worship Supply Cart

To help families navigate worship time, a cart of supplies for children to use during services is available in the Narthex. Kids can take whatever items seem interesting, use them during the service, and return them to the cart when they are done. Worship supplies include fuzzy sticks, coloring sheets, puzzle pages, children’s Bibles, story books, miniature Etch-a-Sketches, colored pencils, die cuts, and copies of the Young Readers’ Worship Guide.

Sunday School
Children who are in kindergarten through the 5th grade meet from 9:45 – 10:45 each Sunday morning in the Children’s Building. Curriculum is designed for a variety of learning styles to help children experience the Bible in ways they can understand.

Toddlers and preschoolers meet for Sunday school in the Nursery, 9:45 – 10:45 on Sunday mornings. Activities include a Bible Story, an active game, a snack, arts and crafts, and songs of praise.

At Sierra Vista, we believe that children learn about God from birth, and we teach this through music, stories, and the love of caring workers. Our large nursery is a state-licensed childcare center and has a room for each age level, from infant through prekindergarten. All our staff have undergone background screening and are trained and experienced in the care of very young children, including CPR and first aid certification.
