Miscellaneous Musings 

We have moved in a rather rapid fashion through the first part of the church year--Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. We are now in "ordinary time" or Kingdomtide," that period between Pentecost and next Advent--also known as Summer and Fall!

Lest we slide through this time like an inner tube down the Guadalupe or at Schlitterbahn, let us keep several matters before us. One, God is still God and is to be praised even in ordinary time. Two, the church must still function, pay expenses, and be about the business of church, though many be occasionally absent on vacation and the like. Please make provision to remember your friends in the Body called Sierra Vista. Three, we can be about God's work in the places and circumstances in which He puts us. Be ready to be a disciple on a moment's notice. Four, we can pray.

Annual Conference will be meeting as you get this letter, so pray for your pastors and all pastors and the laity as we gather to do the business of the Southwest Texas Conference. Be careful and have a safe time.
